Nez Perce Forest
august 3
WEATHER: 98 degree high. Time to leave the Selway River for our half-way stop in Missoula. The heat trailed us, but it’s way different in a car and deep into the Nez Perce forest!
Our last morning on the Selway river.
We saw a giant deer crossing the river when we drove out… a sign of the wilderness to come!
We had dinner with my sweet friend Olivia while in Missoula. She used to work for one of my clients, and the stress of Broadway PR got to her and she wanted to move out west. When she quit my client, we had dinner together and that’s when she got the call for a job in Missoula. I feel honored to have been with her when she made such a HUGE life changing decision. That was 2019. Now she couldn’t be happier in Missoula and has this adorable pooch Sunny and is getting married to the cowboy she met out there! I’m so happy for her! What a FUN night we had!
Missoula is kinda neat, lots of young people and Western things. This sign for an event I can’t understand was hanging in the ice cream parlor. WTF?!
The hotel we stayed at in downtown Missoula was really neat, actually. It’s called “The Wren” and was super high on the design chart. The walls had screen prints on them instead of pictures or wallpaper. Everything had a nordic/sporty theme.
Rather than a desk or table at the opening, it had strips of wood with shelving and hooks. I thought this was a GREAT idea. And they had robes!
Sleek doorless/curtainless shower.
Silkscreened cool drawing on the wall rather than nothing.
Sliding bathroom door and industrial “concrete” tiles. Very cool to look at.
