Aaron at the campsite... We had the place practically to ourselves!
Long underwear, jeans, 3 layers of shirts a fur hat and a down jacket with a hood. Still sooooo cold...
Our trusty tent and camp chair. We've been through a lot together over the years.
Aaron on the rocks - this trail is a 5 minute walk from our campsite. We saw loons!
Our first night... So clean, so warm(ish).
You know it's freezing when Aaron puts on a coat. Our first morning, and it was 30 degrees the night before. The little yellow tent behind our tent is a shelter he set up to keep our wood dry.
Our first morning!

The trees haven't even begun to show signs of budding. Half the forest is bare!
Aaron getting caught in the brambles... again.
View from the top!
Falling down the mountain...
Amazing birch forest in deep winter mode. You could hear a pond of frogs in the background :)
"Beehive" Mountain - one of the biggest in Acadia National Park
Aaron found an antler in the woods!
Aaron cutting wood for the fire
I've never seen Aaron so happy in a landscape.
Tide goes out...
Aaron getting close to nature.
Tucking in for a night of fire watching...
Squirrel! This was the ONLY animal we saw. Not counting the emus, of course.
Lovely section of the trail made of roots.
Huge tree root!
Trail of rooty goodness.

Top of a hill - soooooo windy and cold.

Top of the mountain...
Napping on a mountaintop...
